All dahlias will be judged by an ADS Senior Judge and any entry deemed capable of winning a 1st place in open competition will be awarded a blue ribbon. From the blue ribbon winners, the best will be picked as Best First Year Seedling and awarded a special ribbon.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
- All entries must be made in accordance with the current “Classification of Dahlias” handbook sponsored by the American Dahlia Society and judged accordingly.
- All blooms entered in competition must have been grown by the exhibitor. Exhibitors may make more than one entry in each class.
- Containers will be provided for all classes and “Oasis” will be provided for all containers.
- All cultivars must be correctly and clearly named on the entry card.
- One 1st – blue, one 2nd – red and one 3rd – white will be awarded in each class where exhibits are worthy. No 1st need to be given for the Judges to award a 2nd or 3rd.
- All Dahlias not listed in the Classification Books must be placed on the Classification Table before entering and will be given a classification number by a Senior Judge and signed off before being placed in competition.
- The utilization of any material to support the stems more than 2 inches above the top of the container is strictly prohibited and will disqualify any entry.
- The show committee reserves the right to remove from the show table, any bloom or exhibit which becomes unattractive.
- Exhibits may be entered at 5 pm on Friday evening until 9 pm and Saturday morning, 7 am until 9 am. All entries close at 9 am sharp, when judging begins.
- The Dahlia Society of Nova Scotia is not responsible for any lost or damaged items during the show.
